Thursday 21 April - Friday 29 April 2022
10am - 4pm
The Norwich School Crypt, Norwich
This exhibition had been planned by Norfolk Contemporary Art Society to celebrate the work of Geoffrey Lefever as he reached his ninetieth birthday. The event was delayed for obvious reasons, but we are now delighted that it can finally go ahead, and it is now complemented by the comprehensive book, Geoffrey Lefever: Mark the Place, that was published last year. The exhibition has been curated by three old friends of Geoffrey, Derek Morris, Keith Roberts and Selwyn Taylor, and is presented chronologically. It starts with his early, more literal, landscape work, and progresses through his work as a mature art student in the early 80s to his later gradual shift towards pure abstraction. A selection of his important photographic work is shown in the foyer.
